Our Purpose
Transforming Potential into Achievement: Supporting Students from K–12 to College
The Educational Equity and Excellence Collaborative (E3C) aims to support first-generation students and those from modest-income households by establishing partnerships with K–12 and higher education institutions across the state and amplifying student success programs at Rutgers University.
Our Purpose
To help identify, recruit, enroll, and support students of limited means but unlimited potential through:
- Contributing to an ecosystem that leads to successful academic outcomes
- Forming relationships with both K–12 and higher education partners across New Jersey
- Sharing best practices already at work at Rutgers and beyond
- Creating a clearinghouse of resources for students, families, and educators
- Supporting new research on student success
- Funding promising initiatives by faculty, staff, and students to increase access, opportunity, and success

Strengthening Community
We aim to contribute to an institutional approach that promotes access and educational equity at every stage of the academic journey. Through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and leveraging the expertise of the Rutgers community, we strive to amplify available support for students at every stage—from pre-college outreach and preparation to the college transition, access to undergraduate resources, and, ultimately, post-graduate success.

Driving Innovation
Through the E3C Innovation Fund, the E3C highlights, recognizes, and rewards initiatives, departments, and people across the university that advance our goal to increase access and success for first-generation students, students from modest-income households, and all students who may benefit from programs that advance academic excellence.

Showcasing Excellence
The E3C provides a platform to amplify the enduring Rutgers story of extraordinary access and excellence to prospective educational and philanthropic partners
