Rutgers Community

We believe that by equipping Rutgers faculty and staff with the right resources, we can create a supportive environment that empowers first-generation students to thrive in their academic and professional pursuits. Together, let’s champion their success!

Being First: Teaching First-Generation Learners

Over the 2023-24 academic year, student participants reflected on classroom challenges to identify key teaching practices that Rutgers instructors can use to support first-generation students. The SAS Teaching & Learning team produced a student-centered digital multimedia resource accessible to instructors across all Rutgers campuses.
