Our History
A Proud Tradition
Rutgers University prides itself on its relentless pursuit of academic excellence and longstanding commitment to fostering upward social mobility. As one of the nation’s top public universities, we offer broad opportunities for advancing knowledge and personal growth. Our mission and values emphasize accessibility and robust support throughout the university for students with limited means or who are first in their families to attend college.
Our History
In 2022, leveraging Rutgers' emergence as a leader in social mobility within our state, region, and nation, President Jonathan Holloway announced the launch of the Educational Equity and Excellence Collaborative (E3C). University Academic Affairs houses the E3C under Dr. Prabhas Moghe, executive vice president for academic affairs. The E3C collaborates with colleagues in this work across the university, including Senior Vice President for Equity Dr. Anna Branch, who conceptualized and cultivated the initial support for the E3C, funded partly by the U.S. Department of Education.
The E3C is the first Rutgers-wide initiative dedicated to improving access and success of first-generation students, students from modest-income households, and those who may benefit from additional resources and support.
